Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

1. Be a citizen, refugee, or permanent resident of an eligible Commonwealth country (see the full list below).
2. Be enrolled in a PhD program at a university in a Commonwealth country at the time of application confirmation (September 2025).
3. Ensure their home and host institutions (UK university) have an established partnership.
4. Provide supporting statements from supervisors in both institutions.
5. Hold a master’s degree by September 2025.
6. Be ready to begin academic studies in the UK by September 2025.
7. Not currently hold any other scholarships for overseas study.

Application Process

To apply for the Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships:
